At the beginning of each new month, on the second day, Sassa will start issuing out these permanent grants. In the event that awards are due on the second day of the month, but that day occurs on a weekend or a national holiday, they will be issued the next business day. Beneficiaries of grants get funds from Sassa in a variety of different ways.
This may be done by loading money onto a grant beneficiary’s Sassa Card, sending the money via CashSend, or depositing the money directly into a beneficiary’s bank account. It is essential to keep in mind that the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) award is not a long-term grant, and as a result, it does not conform to this particular payment schedule. Grants from the SRD may be collected daily at participating retailers. Retailers such as Checkers, Pick N Pay, Shoprite, and Boxer Stores are included in this category.
